As a retired marine, contractor at CFLCC Kuwait when she was in command, read her book and from experience believe her story as the truth. What convienced me was the statement she wrote on page 241 gave "thanks to the cowards at the highest levels of the military". These "hero's" are in all endeveavors General. It pains me to witness the injustice I saw especially the comtempt held by active components toward the reserve. For example, in the photo segment of the book there is a rear shot of a Hummer. What is missing is a spare tire on the old outdated Hummer (No protection. Soft sides). I drove to the MP Camp Bucca on a mission directed by the CFLCC C-4 Branch Chief at their urgent request for supply support. What I observed was tragic to me as a marine, the lack for facilities, supplies, old vehicles, inadequate support equipment. Hummers do not come equiped with a spare tire!!!! I went to the supply department, Camp Arifijan and they would not issue 18 builtup tires to the MP's as there were no turn in available. I had made an Initial Outfitting Requisition in hand signed by the CLFCC MP Col , and my colonel and the reply was no, given by a Warrant Officer. I threatened him with bodily, carreer harm and he stamped the requisition. A simple stamp! Stamped by a well feed, clean booted coward. As my colonel was rotating, my company said my services were no longer needed. I was favoring the army over the contract greed. Contracting is full of greedy cowards. As I was driving to the airport to leave Kuwait we passed a convoy of Bucca MP's and each had a spare tire! I was emotional, emotional---these are our warriors! What would one do in a a desert when a tire went flat? Call on a coward? I am one man that has witnessed the glass ceiling that our many warriors have to hit each day of their career. My best friend of twenty years is a female retired (bronze star) LTC aviation branch that could not or was not selected for battallion command in Iraq simple due to the ceiling glass being propped up by cowards. this is an amazing piece of technolgy, it looks more like a damn giant fly it is spooky what we can acheive when we set our minds to any given task. I dont know maybe Im being a little to but it just gets to me that we can spend so much consentrated effort inginuity, and so much money on something thats gonna most likely be used in a millitary capacity when there so much more good we can do with those previously mentioned attributes. For example really putting effort tons of money in research to cure at least one damn disease, there has'nt been a diseased cured since polio, for fuck sake polio. Its all such bullshit. Dont get me wrong there is a place for everything it just crossed my mind when I saw this hiddeious monstrosity which at the same time is a beautiful homage to the human beings ingenuity. Use some of this Brain power to do some genuine good.
